Scope of work For RFR - Structural design
In terms of recreation of the beautiful confluence in Oloron Sainte Marie in the submontane Pyrenees Mountains, two footbridges are required to connect the media centre to parking spaces on one side and the city on the other. Each of those identical bridges is 48m long and 3m wide. The structural depth is adapted to the internal forces of the bridge and varies from 0.74m at the abutments and 1.48m at the centre of the bridge. The speciality of these slender three-dimensional structures is their upper member which is made out of timber beams.
